We only stayed for one night, our experience was good. I knew about the $25 dollar parking so I was already prepared to pay it. I have a 4 door truck, which made it difficult to maneuver in the parking garage. Seems like the garage was constructed for compact cars. Our room was clean and spacious.. My only advice would be for them to repaint the restroom, replace the toilet, and do something about the hot water in the showers. Besides that, the breakfast and our stay was great.

It was an easy hotel to find and get to. Staff were good. Clean and tidy. Only criticisms which is minor is the elevators were a little dingy and some things needed updating a little. Such a nice hotel could just be that little bit more updated.

The room was nice. The clerk was very helpful at check in. $25 for parking only stayed one night, but it’s $25 every night to park. The room was very comfortable and clean. I had no problems at all with my stay. Do recommend if your going to be downtown to stay at this hotel

Take care of hidden costs and poor service at the reception. The hotel room itself is good and clean. They ask if you have a car, but do not mention it is $25.- a night! I could have parked at the company just around the corner, but neither the confirmation or the reception has mentioned this parking fee. At check-out, I immediately noticed I forgot to empty the fridge. First, I had to deal with the fact that I cannot go back to the room. After mentioning I just leave the groceries in there, they did decide to give the card back. Officially they are right, but I would expect better service as it was not busy at all. The swimming pool is just a check-box and would only recommend on very hot days. It is noisy, dirty and not more than a practical place to cool down. The breakfast and service at the breakfast was great!

I expected allot more for the price but it was decent. Staff were friendly. Room was clean but outdated. The tv can not connect to Internet so no streaming. No complimentary coffee aside from the organic k cups in the room. Pool is small and is only outdoors. Staff was courteous but what I found hideous was the breakfast buffet, it was free for our reserved stay but not worth the $19 per meal they charge for it. Food was uncovered in the middle of summer and once it was gone it was gone- even though it was supposedly available to 11am. There 2 apartment size washers and 2 dryers available for $2 per load and only 1 washer was working. No detergent and no other commodities.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Was able to check in early which when you’ve driven 1000 miles in the previous day is huge! Beds were very comfortable. My only observation is it may be time for a “refresh” our room had very dated artwork, the receptacles were yellowed and dingy looking and the last thing, I’m not a tall person by any means but it seemed like the toilet was very short.

⭐☆☆☆☆ - Valentine’s Day Disaster: Long Lines, No Sleep, and a Broken Hotel From the moment we arrived, our romantic Valentine’s getaway was doomed. The hotel’s logo was broken and barely hanging at the entrance—giving off an abandoned, rundown vibe. A sad, handwritten “No Smoking” sign taped to a bench outside only reinforced the bad first impression. Check-in was smooth, thanks to the kind front desk employee, but that was the only good part of our stay. The real nightmare began when we tried to get to our room. Out of four elevators, only one worked in this 15+ floor hotel, and the line to use it wrapped through the lobby. We had to wait an eternity just to squeeze into the rickety, screeching death trap. Every time it moved, it groaned and rattled so violently that we genuinely feared it might break down mid-ride. When we finally made it to our room on the 10th floor, we quickly realized we weren’t going to get any sleep. The loud mechanical clanking of the one overworked elevator echoed through the walls all night long. Romance? Not happening. Rest? Impossible. We had to go back downstairs and beg for a different room, just to escape the non-stop noise. And of course, that meant waiting in the ridiculous elevator line again. At this point, I’d had enough. I went straight to the front desk, demanded a refund, and booked another hotel. I refuse to spend another minute in this place. If you’re even considering staying here—don’t. Save yourself the frustration and book literally anywhere else.

I stayed here for 2 nights and if I could have left and found another hotel I would have... I drove 4 hours from Dallas to stay in Houston because I was working at the Hospital so I knew I wanted to stay close to the Medical Center. This place was very close to the hospital and the price was reasonable. What I did not know is that I was getting exactly what I was paying for. Upon entry, the lobby was warm and musty, I get my key to the room and as I enter I see peoples belongings already in the room so I had to go back down and tell them that the room they gave me was already assigned to someone. The hallways smelled like mildew. When I finally got my new room key the room was not as clean as I had hoped. There were stains on the bedframe, the bathtub had a light brown covering on the bottom, and one of the lamps did not work. I just did not feel comfortable sleeping there at all. The parking garage was so small and compact, the elevators took at least 5-10 minutes to come, at one point there was a long line of people just to get into the elevator. I had important papers I wanted to print and the mouse on the computer downstairs didn't even work. If I wasn't so tired and exhausted from my shift at the hospital I would have left and made that 4 hour drive back to Dallas that night! But for my safety I decided to stay but best believe first thing the next morning I did my virtual check out and left. I would not recommend ANYONE not even my worst enemy to stay there.

Bed and rooms where clean and front desk staff just lovely. Really good pillows 🤣 I heavily judge hotels by their pillows... Be warned it is a party hotel on weekends, hardly the hotels fault but their reasonable price and proximity to clubs/bars make it attractive to those coming to town to party. If you're here on business and don't mind the drunk person making a bunch of noise in the hall at 2am who can't figure out how to get their key in the door then you're good. I spoke to the front desk and it seems to just be a weekend thing when big events are in town, profusely apologetic. Not the hotel or staffs fault in anyway shape or form. They have security in the lobby overnight too which was a nice to have/eased my mind. Easy access parking structure attached to the hotel too so nice safe and monitored parking!

Great location, awful rooms. Room never went under 75° so it was hot all day and night, our room was missing a curtain or some blinds which let the bright outside building light very visible. When we said something about the room temp they offered another room only for another person also complaining about the temp. We were already settled in and passed on switching room, Expedia and google showed Complimentary breakfast (I never book a hotel without it) when we got to the breakfast area they asked for a voucher or it would be $19 per person, went up front to get my voucher and clerk stated they do NOT have complimentary breakfast. It was just an awful stay but it did the job. Would NOT recommend.

My overall stay was good. I'm glad that this property was updated over the years. I've stayed at this property a few times since being in Houston. So it was good to see them update the rooms and most of the rest of the property. My room was spacious, comfortable, and semi-clean. Some of the issues I had were getting hot water in the shower. The hottest it got was luke warm. But the sink faucet did get hot water. My room had some small insects but they were mainly on the window seal. Everything else was good. I'm not a fan of the $25/night parking. Priceline failed to indicate that at the time of booking and I don't recall paying that from my previous stays. Street parking is an option at your own risk of course. I saw broken window glass on the ground indicating someone's car had been broken into..There were several unauthorized charges on my card that NOBODY from the hotel could explain. I've called and emailed there accounting person Ali multiple times and he never responded or returned my call. And then I received a response from someone named Tatianna who didn't provide any assistance. The charges are still pending on my card a week after checkout. Aside from the issues, The front desk staff was pleasant, professional, and courteous. The hotel is in a great area fir leisure and travel. Levy park nearby is one of the biggest perks.

July 6th-7th,2025 - Stay I wish I could give a negative 5. I stayed here a month ago and had a completely horrible stay. My sister booked me a room as she said this was a nice hotel with great amenities. The joke was on us. The hotel was nice but the service the worst. The front desk only had 1 person working on a busy weekend and it took over an hour to get checked in at 10pm at night. After waiting all that time as a Rewards member my sister requested late check out the next morning and had the notes placed on the account. However, we were advised to make sure we call back and confirm with the night auditor. So I stayed up as asked and waited until they came on shift and was available to take my call at 2am. Which is crazy I had to stay awake to do that. But, both times I was told no problem I can check out at 1pm. Then at 9am not only was someone banging on the door like the police and it wasn't housekeeping but the new person at the front desk repeatedly called the room stating I needed to leave. I informed her I had late checkout. The lady rudely told me to exit the room immediately or I would be charged for another night. I packed my belongings and called my sister once in the lobby as I didn't want her to get more charges. Once my sister arrived she went to the front desk and asked for a supervisor. The same person was rude to her and refused to help her stating if she wasn't a guest or willing to tell her the issue she needed to leave and she refused to get a supervisor. Another lady walked and my sister told her she wanted a manager asap. Once the manager Derrick Ingram showed up my sister explained the whole ordeal and rude treatment. The manager apologized gave her a business card and offered a complimentary stay via points after looking at her status. However a month has passed and this was never done. When we reached out to customer service they stated the notes are on the account but the hotel needs to issue the points and they would send a message. To add insult to injury as of today a manager named Krystal sent text messages instead of calling. The entire treatment of this female staff is totally unprofessional and uncaring about customer service. My stay was a nightmare. My sister's card was overcharged which took 2 weeks to resolve and she never received the complimentary stay as promised.

The only good thing I can say is, the night shift front desk lady was great. She was quick to help me fix issues and very nice. Otherwise, our room ac didn’t work so we had to move rooms after unpacking everything. There’s no luggage carts. Then Saturday we got stuck in the elevator and the other lady wouldn’t even tell us how long it would be before maintenance got there to help us get out. It was terrifying and I had a panic attack which ruined my entire night at the rodeo. Oh and they have the nerve to charge $10 for a bottle of water in the pantry!

Which later on I get a call back indicating that it was there wrong being that the TV wasn't broken it was the TV channel that frozen on the screen that made it look like it was damaged, smh never again im staying there ever.Very disappointed and unsatisfied

My stay at the Crowne Plaza was nothing short of exceptional. I’ve only been here twice, once during a college or high school tournament in May and again in July 2025. Both times, my check-in process was incredibly fast. My room was spotless both times. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I appreciate that their parking is affordable and conveniently located right on the property. If I needed any assistance, the front desk staff was always quick to respond and provide the support I needed.I always get a warm smile from Tatianna and Kirstin, the friendly front desk representatives. They make my stay feel like a pleasure. The location is great, right off the freeway. They offer a delicious breakfast at a reasonable price, and they have a pool, although it’s not the biggest, but it gets the job done and is always kept clean. Overall, the property met my expectations as an active travel agent. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Houston, Texas. Keep up the great work, guys!

This site is far from being up to par with IHG Standards. From the hotel which is old and the rooms they attempted to refresh being less than optimal. I travel for work all the time, used points yet was still charged on my credit card for both rooms. When asking why the suite I was upgrade to was in bad shape I was told “you really have to understand this facility is 62 years old. What do you expect!” Not the kind of service you’d expect. Elevators are a bit scary, as a couple of them don’t report correct floor on readout and feel like you might not make it to the floor your going to request. Bathroom fixtures were falling off and no secured. Also you have two temperatures. Hot and really hot. Tv was nice and knew great size. But not why I book a hotel room, the bed was decent. But the room in general not suite quality. When trying to reach mgmt. none existent or just didn’t have time to talk. As far as the stay, won’t book it again. Had to leave early for work but still paid for the second night via points as it was un refundable. Not a good IHG experience. Some training and attitudes need adjusted there.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. The facilities are extremely old and dirty. My first impression was finding huge cockroaches in the lobby bathroom, and more cockroaches in the parking lot. The rooms were uncomfortable, and the coffee station was awkwardly placed right by the bathroom door, not to mention the lack of cleanliness overall. I would not return; it was definitely not a good experience. The only redeeming factor is the convenient location, but aside from that, I would never stay here again. I booked this hotel because it was listed as part of the IHG group, but it doesn’t even come close to meeting that standard.

I have never had service in a hotel as bad as this. I booked a 2 bed room and had to resort to a one bed because there were people waiting in the lobby for 2 hours just for the 2 bed hotel room. I would have had to cancel all my plans if I waited for what I ordered. They had no accommodations even after the wait, no late check out. (There’s an EXTRA $30 accommodations fee and we were not accommodated to) I have never been to a hotel without late checkout. And I mean NEVER, I travel for work.. Even motels have late checkout…. Oh and let’s not forget the parking price they don’t tell you about at the Front desk.. and also I heard them offering other people vouchers for Breakfast and I definitely didn’t get the offer. Listen to the bad reviews and don’t book here.. I didn’t and I regret it because the service was terrible. Update to the reply: i understand the system was down! Which is why you’d think a business establishment would at least accommodate late checkout out (nothing crazy just an hour) (I was charged an extra $85, I paid for late checkout in my opinion) and not hang up in people’s faces…. Also i’m assuming that’s why other guest were given breakfast vouchers? Because the system was down and you couldn’t accommodate us. Also it’s an extra $85 to stay here even after you already paid online ?????? I DIDN’T EVEN PARK THERE FOR MORE THEN 20 MINUTES I HAD NO IDEA A PARKING PASS WOULD AUTOMATICALLY ADD A $25 CHARGE!!!!!!!!! That’s something that should be brought up when checking in ????

My Partner and I was on an Anniversary vacay booked a suite from Oct 9- Oct 13 with hopes to having a comfortable and stressful free stay. The night of arrival the young lady whom checked us in was nice and pleasant , once we were assigned our room we first notice a bad old odor from inside elevator as well as it displayed wrong floor numbers, once we got passed that and made it to our floor smell got stronger like a mildew smell. We entered our room to get settled in and discover 2 dead roaches near appliance area we immediately exit to report to front desk and also discover more roaches in light fixture above door in hallway. We was then assist by a woman name Lola who identified herself as front desk manager and was offered a different room and was told no refund or adjustment could be made unless we left, which would be an inconvenience to us to find another stay being we was traveling from out of state so we accepted the room swap. We enter 2nd suite room notice a few ants on top bedding immediately checked rest of bedding and did not see any trail so we lysol bed and preceded with our night. 2nd day the bathroom sink faucet handle fell off we notified front desk was told maintenance was close will assist in morning going inton3rd day which did not happen we had to call FD again was told we can be moved to a 3rd room which we be another inconvience in our stay we decline and ask for maintenance to come he arrive an hour later to fix as we prepared to head out , not to mention this day we woke up notice we had been bitten on arms and legs we begin feeling like the sofa and bed had bed bugs which kept us up and uncomfortably most the night and checking our items in luggage we left to grab food in which we attempted to warm on our return to find we did not have microwave we was over our disappointed stay so we decided to go to snack store to see if it was one there which it wasnt and was told by FD we should have had one in room so a maintenance man was sent to installed one a night before check out . I am shock this establishment is under IHG . To see how staff thinks several room swaps rectify these issues then assign to next customer shows unprofessionalism, lack of empathy and the inconvenience of customers and our health. In addition the room had several issues, the shower rod was barely hanging on the wall, the magnifying side mirror was barely hanging on the wall, and the toilet paper holder was loose. Not very good maintenance at all. We mentioned to the front desk all of these issues, especially the lack of hot water and they said maintenance would check it out, but there was no indication maintenance ever came by. There is no sitting area in the room, so if you want to sit and watch TV you must sit on the bed, which was not comfortable at all. I will not be back. So $500 later we are finally heading home. The hotel would not help. Corporate keeps hanging up on us. Apparently it happens frequently!!!! I do not recommend this hotel!

No hot water in my first room, then they wanted me to wait until Engineering came to fix it. Moved to another room and soon as I got off the elevator there was a strong odor that smells like mold. I canceled the remaining days and requested a refund. The property needs a serious remodel. Smells bad on most floors and no hot water in either room. Terrible experience. I will never book this hotel again. The hotel manger needs to read these reviews and do a serious evaluation of the property. Even with price discounts it's not worth staying here. Night was ruined and they offered ZERO to accommodate my troubles. I'm a traveling professional and I AVOID properties like this.

I'm currently a guest here in the hotel and on business. I love this place. You get way more for your money here and if you don't want to drive Anywhere you're in a safe area to walk. 500 feet from the hotel is a wonderful place connected to a beautiful urban park. Just walking the block you will find some of the best restaurants anywhere. Location, location, location......and the rooms are very nice. I have a great city view. And I'm in the trendy area. The hotel was good for this price. It felt full every night with rodeo visitors. Our room needed work in the bathroom. We were surprised by the overnight parking fee that was not clearly identified on the website when we reserved with CP. Breakfast was good but overpriced.

Even water dispenser not working. How can someone survive. Bad and I won't recommend this hotel. Front receptionist rude and have no clue. Also lied on my face as there are water bottles placed,.which were holding the door and act as stopper.

Although our experience with this particular Crown Plaza was not a very good one, from the room being accompanied by not only me and my husband, but also by a cluster of intrusive roaches. We went down to the restaurant one morning to order breakfast of the menu after try to order by phone, but every time we tried to order by phone and in person staff was basically forcing us to have thier buffet. When we asked about a Denver omlete which was on the menu, we were told they didn't have that along with a few other items on the menu. We finally gave up and wanted to go else where for breakfast. When trying to exit the parking garage, we couldn't even get out. The whole system was down several guest were unable to get out of the parking garage which ended up hindering my husband for a work meeting. To add insult to injury my husband bought a 5 dollar hostess cupcake late night from thier snack area only to find when he got back to the room it was expired by several days. So, although we didn't have such a great experience, we were able to speak to one of thier new employees (Lola), which had only been there for three days. Was very apologetic and kind. So thank you for giving us some sense of hope that that Crown Plaza will do better in the future. P.s. to Lola, the woman I met at the front desk, thank you for all that you did to try and rectify the situation. The Crown Plaza did a great job hiring you.

I looked online and saw the menu, but when I went to to restaurant for dinner the menu was different than online, tried to get soup of the day and was holding no soup. Asked for something else, nope we don't have that. Was a small menu, should have everything on a menu. As a former restaurant owner I very rarely ever ran out , but I know it happens. . The tomato bisque was supposed to be served with shrimp and goat cheese. I got 1/4 tomato soup with a ton of some sort of croutons, no goat cheese and no shrimp. For $12 for a 1/4 bowl of soup I would at least a have a sprinkle of goat cheese and at minimum 1 shrimp. Please fix this (chef) apparently I am not the first to complain about this. I had a very uncomfortable and disappointing stay at this hotel. During our time here, security approached us twice for no valid reason. It was only me and my sister in the room. We were not hosting a party, not smoking, not drinking, and not interacting with anyone else. The first time, we were simply listening to music at a low volume. The second time, we were only talking. We were told that a woman in the room next door said she felt “scared” and decided to check out, which resulted in security coming to our door again. One of the security guards, a Hispanic man, spoke to us in an aggressive and threatening manner and said he would call the police, as if we were doing something illegal or disruptive, which was completely untrue. The situation felt unnecessary, intimidating, and biased. We followed hotel rules the entire time and still felt targeted and harassed. Being threatened with police involvement over normal conversation inside a hotel room is unacceptable. On top of that, housekeeping was extremely poor. The room was not properly cleaned. Sheets were not changed, the room was not organized, and basic housekeeping standards were not met. It felt like staff did not want to do their job or provide proper service. This stay caused stress instead of comfort. Between the excessive security involvement and the lack of cleanliness, this hotel does not provide the level of professionalism expected from a Crowne Plaza. I do not recommend booking here if you value privacy, respectful treatment, and proper housekeeping.

This is an old relic. It has great bones and in its heyday it was a force to be reckoned with. But today, by modern hotel standards- it has the audacity to be charging full price. Air vents are dusty. The rooms on the top floor are HOT! The plantation style closet doors were missing slats! The soap in the dispenser feels like dishwashing detergent. Just very generic. No more valet! And it's just really lacking HARD for the price. On the upside, the staff was nice. Beds are comfy and all white bedding is nice. But it's definitely giving 2/3 stars.

I stayed at Crowne Plaza Houston and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I booked and paid for a suite (1424). After being out all day, I returned to a room that had not been cleaned at all. When I alerted staff, the solution proposed was that I sleep in the dirty room and make my own bed with sheets they would provide. This is simply unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a branded one. After going downstairs and arguing for over 30 minutes, my exhausted family and I were moved to a standard double room for the night, a downgrade that should never have been imposed. The next day, after another full day out, the suite was still not cleaned two consecutive days. To my disbelief, the on-site supervisor stated that since I had slept in a double room, I should remain there, despite paying for a suite. Only when a manager intervened was I moved again to another suite (1724). Compensation was limited to 50% off one night, with no apology, no other gesture, and no accountability. Completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing.

I would not recommend this hotel on a busy weekend! Check in was stated to be at 3 pm, arrived to the hotel for 3:45 and was told our room wasn’t ready. We were in town for a concert, along with the other 40 guest waiting in the hotel lobby. We ended up getting ready in the lobby hall. Didn’t get the keys to our room until 5:15 and the concert started for 6. We have been offered no compensation for our late check in/hassle. Rude staff at the front desk. Room was nice, but warm and took hours to cool down.

Comfortable bed , decent size restroom and room. Not sure when Housekeepimg is but they did not clean our rooms for 2 days, even if we had the sign on the door . Someone did come knocking at around 6pm asking if we needed a cleaning ??? very unprofessional. I will say we were greeted very nicely and felt very welcomed. But also very dissapointed in TV amenities, No smart tv in our room ?? No streaming services. Never experienced that in a hotel so if you just want to relax in your room there isn’t really anything to watch if you unless you want to click through channels .

Don’t book this hotel!!! I booked the King Suite expecting a top-notch room and excellent service. Instead, I got one of the worst hotel experiences in Houston. First off, the elevators shake so badly it feels like you’re riding with the Harlem Globetrotters doing tricks inside—there are four elevators and every single one feels unsafe. That alone set the tone for the stay. The room was a complete disappointment. Heat didnt work and the room was freezing. The hotel sent 2 repairman didn't fix the heat. They also provided another room and the same happen again. Definitely not suite-level quality—outdated, poorly maintained, and far from clean. For the price, I expected comfort and luxury, not something that felt neglected and rushed together. Basic expectations weren’t even met. Customer service was just as bad. Staff seemed uninterested, unhelpful, and acted like guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. Any concerns were brushed off instead of addressed. Overall, this hotel is overpriced, underwhelming, and misleading. If you’re expecting quality, comfort, or professionalism, look elsewhere. Save your money and your sanity—this place is absolutely not worth it.

Disappointing stay on December 15-16, 2025 (Room 1419). The shower had no cold water — only scalding hot. After using the gym on checkout morning, I needed a shower before my 5-hour drive to Dallas. I asked the front desk at 10:50 AM for another room or any shower access. Supervisor Kristen said only that maintenance was coming and offered no help or alternative. I had to leave sweaty and uncomfortable. A working shower is basic — when it fails, the hotel should offer a quick solution. Hope this improves for others.

Stayed there over the weekend, first time to Houston and I was recommended this area from my best friend. Such a charming hotel and more bang for my buck than I expected. The food, the pantry in the lobby full of snacks for guests, and the reliable housekeeping. Just awesome!! I must add that Mark and Lola greeted me so well and took such great care of me. I had such a great conversation being in from NYC. They gave me beautiful advice on the culture of Houston and the southern hospitality was in abundance. I will return next time I travel.

Shout out to the ladies at the front desk, specifically the young lady from New Orleans, I believe her name is Kirstin. Always top notch friendly service. Clean updated rooms, great housekeeping staff. Highly recommend. Updated review: visited Houston again and stayed here. This hotel never disappoints me! Kirstin AGAIN provided the best service known to man, and Ms. Lola is just as amazing. Keep it up! I’ll be staying here when I visit the city again.

Room and location was a great stay. But if you need something that requires the housekeeping and they are gone for the day. Good luck. I got there around 10pm at night. We just wanted to change and get ready to sleep. When my wife wanted to go to the restroom there was no toilet paper. I told my wife don't worry ill get down stairs and get some. I went down stairs and asked the receptionist for toilet paper. They told me no, I don't have any with me and I don't have the keys to the housekeeping room to get some. I explained to him that my wife needed to go to the restroom and I also have 2 other little girls. They said I have to wait till the morning until housekeeping comes to get toilet paper. I couldn't believe what he said. I'm paying for the night for the essentials like bed, shower, and restroom to be comfortable for the night. I wasn't giving the essentials for that night they were denying to give me toilet paper. I told them well can you please get it from another room. One that's not being occupied this night. Tomorrow when housekeeping comes, they can put it back. They told me I can't go to any room to take toilet paper. The toilet paper needs to stay in their own rooms. I couldn't belive this either. I was already frustrated because they were denying me toilet paper and my wife up stairs needing to go to the restroom. Then I asked So them can you change me rooms to a room that has toilet paper for the night. They also denied this. They said they couldn't change me rooms. They can only change me rooms if the room smelled bad or a/c was not working. They couldn't change me just for toilet paper. I told them this was ridiculous. I asked them what will you do in this situation. You're wife needs to go to the restroom I have 2 other little girls I need toilet paper for them for the night and your denying to give me some. They stayed quiet. Then they answered try to find another way or solution. I almost rented another room for that night just to get toilet paper for my room. Until I remembered they need to have a lobby restroom. So I asked them where was the lobby restroom. I had to go there and get the toilet paper and take it upstairs. By this time my wife couldn't hold it anymore. Im just glad this happened to my wife and not to my little girls. That same night I went online to find the telephone for customer service to inform them what happened. By that time it was already close to 11pm. They were closed. Next day I called them and explained them everything. They told me if I called them they would solve the issue. I told him it was 11pm you all were closed no one answered. He said those are the rules of the hotel, but we can take you toilet paper if you like. I told him the issue was last night not now in the morning. After all this conversation we had he asks me if I want to become a rewards member. That was funny. With that he just pretty much said he didn't care about the situation I had. I stay in hotels 1 to 2 times per month because of business. Something like this has never happened in my 24 years in business. In general the rooms are okay but the service or rules in this hotels are really bad. Even though there were several things that could be done to solve the issue. They denying doing. Even though I had paid for the night to have the essentials needed for a stay. I will definitely never stay in any of thier hotels. With those kind of rules it's not worth the night. If you need something after housekeeping is gone you're screwed.

Stayed: July 3–7, 2025 Room: King Standard Worklife Purpose: Family trip to visit friends and relatives We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Houston Med Ctr–Galleria Area for a long family weekend. While the hotel offered a few positives, several major issues ultimately left us disappointed. The Good: Check-in was smooth, and I want to give a special shoutout to Kirstin Williams at the front desk. She was efficient, helpful, and made extending our stay quick and painless. Our King room was very spacious, and the free breakfast, while standard, was hot, fresh, and better than expected. Parking on-site was convenient and straightforward, which we appreciated. The Not So Good: Unfortunately, our room wasn’t clean when we arrived, especially the bathroom. The room lacked a safe, which should be a basic amenity. The hotel is 18 stories tall but only has four elevators. Trying to get downstairs around checkout time was frustrating; we waited over 15 minutes just to get from the 16th floor to the lobby. On our last day, all the water in our room came out brown. When we reported it, the front desk said they’d notify maintenance, but it seemed like this wasn’t the first time they’d heard about it. Over the weekend, the toilet took more than 15 minutes to refill after flushing, and the hot water took forever to warm up, probably due to high occupancy. Bottom Line: For the price, this hotel just didn’t meet expectations. While some staff were excellent, the facility issues, water quality problems, and inconsistent cleanliness made it hard to justify the cost. Would I stay again? No. There are better, more reliable options in the area.

Dear Crowne Plaza Management, I recently stayed at your hotel, and unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. During my visit, I was repeatedly misgendered by staff, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. In addition, several other issues contributed to an overall poor stay: • The elevators were outdated and not well-maintained. • The parking deck had a strong odor of marijuana, and I found the repeated parking fees ($15–$25 each time I exited) unreasonable—especially since many comparable hotels offer free parking. • The water pressure in my room was very low, and the internet connection was slow. • It took nearly two days for my room to reach a comfortable temperature. • At checkout, I waited over 15 minutes to speak with a front desk representative, who I later discovered had been asleep in the back office. I had expected a much higher standard of service and hospitality from a Crowne Plaza property. I hope you will address these concerns

Overall the property is nice and good location. Sheets are horrible. Felt like sand paper. Temperature was very difficult to Adjust. I asked for late checkout and house keeping kept coming every 30 minutes to ask when I was checking out. It was impossible to sleep. They did this at least 4 times. They need to listen.

I enjoyed my one night stay here. I was aware of the $25 parking charge so it wasn’t an issue when booking for me. I did see a security guard in the garage which was awesome. I was able to check in early and I got the high floor I asked for. Spacious, well appointed room. Unfortunately, the AC was not working in my room. I got a text from the manager asking how was the room and when I responded about the AC, I got no response. So I went to the front desk. They sent the facilities team to fix and they did indeed do a great job! Breakfast was ~$20, so I just paid for a $4 coffee and headed out. Thanks!

I emailed the email address on hotel response but it bounced back as undeliverable. Receptionist staff good. Room was flooded with dirty water from another room. We changed room and that door lock was damaged. Towels were stained and dirty. Spoke with Receptionist staff and then asked for acknowledgement that it was not satisfactory. Receptionist staff apologised and we were given complimentary breakfasts. I then had to deal with an issue which necessitated making a telephone call overseas. It was 1230am and I sat in a hallway outside the locked ground floor meeting rooms. The hallway was about 20m long and I was very quiet on a call. The hotel security officer approached me and told me I can’t make the call there and he was going to trespass me from the hotel. I showed him my room card and he was rude, obnoxious, and attempted to intimidate me. He told me he was going to remove me and I invited him to carry out his threat. He then rang who I assume was his supervisor and I heard him lying to whoever was on the call. He told them he didn’t know if I was a guest. He was also rude to another guest using the disabled toilet. The person on the phone with him wasn’t impressed with him as he then walked away, without another word. Very disappointing that the hotel would allow this rude individual to interact with guests in this way.

Most of the staff was nice except for a few. I’ll spare names. The room was clean location was fine. Good luck asking for anything however. My sink water ran SCALDING HOT. Didn’t matter which way you turned it and it wasn’t fix till day two. Towels you might as well get them yourself. Toilet paper forget it. Call down to the front desk for towels at 8 am you’ll get them around 12 or when they feel like it. Ended up missing an resevation waiting on clean towels! Extra toilet paper I asked for THREE TIMES! Ended up buying my own pack. Simple thing like cups at 9pm oh you’ll have to wait till house keeping comes in the morning. I asked for sheet changes never got it. $50/per day deposit so if you’re staying a week just be prepared to put $300 aside before you do anything else and parking is $25 a day for someone to ding your rental!!!! WILL NOT STAY HERE EVER AGAIN! CURRENTLY ON MY WAY TO A RELATIVES HOUSE TO SHOWER. STILL NO TOWELS OR TOILET PAPER!!!!! The order was put in is what I was told when I called THE THIRD TIME! They charged us like three times for the same room. They charged my card on file with which I made the reservation, then as we got to the hotel, and after when we were checking out they made us pay with another card, since we were complaining about the previous two charges for the same room. They said a refund would be issued with a receipt with the final payment. I had to call for over three weeks trying to get in contact with someone who could issue my refund. I finally got in contact with someone and they issued the refund. But they ended up charging us way more than they said they would charge, adding an extra $92 for I don't know what plus the actual room. They were incredibly hard to get in contact with which is why I didn't try to get a refund for those extra charges that came out of no where. As we were at the hotel the lady at the front desk said they had this same issue with six other clients, where they were charged multiple times for the room upon arrival.

They didn't advertise that you have to pay $25 to park at the hotel, nor did they advertise that the breakfast buffet is only for 2 people...additional folks have to pay $20 each. Pancakes and waffles are even more. For some reason my credit card was charged $55 to my room for breakfast when it was supposed to be free. I was told by the front desk that my 2 tickets covered me and my 3 kids. The waiter said it only covered 2 of us. I went to front desk and showed them that no where did my hotel booking say that breakfast was only for 2 people. The front desk clerk gave me 2 additional passes. Somehow I was charged $55 for breakfast + $50 for a deposit. This place is a scam. None of the travel sites tell the buyer of these additional charges. We stayed on the 5th floor and could hear the traffic at night.

Extremely old and outdated hotel. The noise from the highway is so loud it sounds like your sitting on a lawn chair in the emergency lane of the interstate. Carpet's are somehow constantly mildly soggy. Some floors have a very evident odor of mold. They have a weird rule of delivery drivers not allowed to deliver food to your room, it has to be left at the front desk. So if you have any kind of handicap or medicine stuff that affects your mobility, don't order food, you'll never see it till it's too late. Staff is incredibly dismissive and rude, at least the overnights are. The fact that this place is charging as much as they are for their rooms is absolutely disgusting, false and at its best. Wall paper is either sagging or peeling from water damage, when there's hot water it takes 15+ minutes to reach the room. They advertise you can cast to the TV's in the room, but then have their TVs blocked from being able to connect to internet. Even if they could connect, their wifi is slower than molasses in the middle of a snow storm in Alaska, absolutely useless. Save your self the time, headaches, and ongoing frustration, and go literally to any other hotel and youll have a 100% better experience. Edit: 24 hours after writing this review became targeted by management since I had 3 days left on this day. By targeted I mean management making up completely bogus reasons to be able to try and kick me out. Got to the point where I had to call customer relations with IHG I'm still considering further actions considering how much worse this experience got after writing the original review.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, so they have that going for them. But every interaction I had with staff was weird and aggressive. They're in the middle of updating key cards, which is causing a lot of confusion and problems, totally understandable. But I assume it must have everyone on edge. In the midst of the key card confusion, I wasn't told that there was a parking pass nor issued one, so instead of the $25/night with in and out privileges on the parking garage we ended up having to pay to come and go every time. I knew this wasn't quite right, as they had also said they were going to charge $25 to our room for parking. I didn't want to double pay, so we made sure to video ourselves having to pay to leave for proof that we did it. The machine didn't issue a receipt either. When I went the next morning to get everything straightened away with the front desk, she acted like their system being funky was my fault. "Well where's your parking pass?" I wasn't given one. "Well, the only proof I'll accept of that is a receipt" Your parking machine doesn't issue them, I took a video. "We won't accept that, only a receipt." Eventually had to show her bank transactions to prove that their system was double charging us for parking. Until they get all of this straightened out, make sure to keep track of EVERY charge or they'll straight up try to keep your extra money. It was a very frustrating experience.

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in years. The moment we walked into the lobby, the front desk employee was sitting there scrolling on her phone. She saw us walk in and never even bothered to put it down. When we approached the desk to check in, there was no greeting, no smile, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. We were treated as if we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. Things only got worse from there. The elevators are old and poorly maintained, and the hallways smell awful. The entire property feels neglected and run down. But the most shocking issue was the room. As soon as we pulled back the sheets, we found multiple hairs on the bedding. It was immediately obvious that the bed had not been properly cleaned or changed. That is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a Crowne Plaza. At that moment, I genuinely questioned the cleanliness of the entire room. To make matters even worse, the hotel sits right next to the freeway. The traffic noise is relentless, making it difficult to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. What frustrates me most is that after reading the Google reviews, I realized these are not new problems. Guest after guest has reported the same issues for months, if not years. Management responds to nearly every review with the same generic promise to “look into it” or “make improvements,” yet nothing appears to change. At this point, those responses feel like copy-and-paste damage control rather than any genuine effort to improve the guest experience. Had I read the reviews before booking, I never would have stayed here. This property falls far below the standards I expect from the Crowne Plaza brand. If you value cleanliness, professionalism, and basic hospitality, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. I will never stay here again.

Most of my hotel stays have always been a very memorable good experience, except for this one. When I arrived at this hotel, the lady at the counter was sweating with a fan beside her which should have signal to me that something was wrong, but I still went on against my intuition to book my stay at this hotel. When I got into my room with my family after two hours, we noticed that the room was beginning to be hot and unbearable. The temperature on the thermostat was 88°F., at this point, I called the front desk and reported that the room was very hot and that were sweating profusely, to my surprise, there was no sympathy from the hotel Staff and I was told that they are working on the unit. They needed me to give them about an hour to fix it . So I waited and after one hour, it was becoming unbearable at 93 degrees and difficult to breathe for myself and my kids, and especially for my spouse who had a health issue. And at this time, we had all taken off our clothes and fanning ourselves with magazines. But then when I called the hotel Staff, she rudely told me to check out if I wanted and that I will get a refund and she hanged up the phone. I proceeded to pack our things and check out of the hotel and during checkout I received no apology, but rather blatantly told my checkout is completed and I was free to go. We had to drive around in the car for another hour and 30 minutes, trying to find a hotel and calling the IHG staff to help us in the process to locate a hotel in a city where we are not familiar with. The Crown Plaza Medical Center, Galleria should be closed down and worked on because it is very wrong to knowingly bring in guest to the hotel knowing that the air-conditioning system is not working in Texas where the weather is very hot and the staff should be trained to show empathy when things are not working in the hotel. This is by far, the worst experience I have had in hotel travel and as a result, I would never recommend nor use Crowne plaza hotel again. It’s really sad that hotels overseas are more hospitable and staffs are more friendly and welcoming than what I see here in the United States.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an outstanding experience at the Crowne Plaza in Houston! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. A special thank you to Tank at the front desk. He provided some of the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to help. He made the check-in process seamless, answered all my questions with a smile, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed for a great stay. Employees like Tank make all the difference. His positive attitude and dedication to guest satisfaction truly stand out and reflect exceptionally well on the hotel. I highly recommend this Crowne Plaza to anyone visiting Houston, and I look forward to staying here again!

Overall I had a great stay the hotel is in a convenient location, making it easy to get around Houston. The room and bathroom were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Parking is available in a parking garage for $20 per night, and there's also a $50 incidental hold, so keep that in mind when booking. Other than that, everything went smoothly, and I'd definitely consider staying here again.

If you are into taking cool or cold showers this is the perfect spot but if you like a nice hot shower. Stay away from this place. I was there 4 days, maintenance came up twice and ran water for 20 minutes and it got lukewarm, never hot. The breakfast could be a lot better they have the exact same thing everyday. The front desk could be a lot more caring but there not and think they get a kick out of being nasty. Pick another hotel you don't want this one!!!!!

We stayed here while attending the Morocco vs. Canada World Cup match, and it was a great experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location. The breakfast area was well organized, with a nice variety of fresh food, and everything was kept clean. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, making us feel right at home. Their hospitality made our trip even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Houston, whether for a special event or just to explore the city.

Stayed here in early January 2026. Rooms are spacious most with a decent view. Housekeeping came all but one day and left the rooms and bed feeling clean. Gym is outdated, however and smells like must. If you enjoy a good workout while traveling then reconsider booking here as it will not meet your expectations. Secondly, the pool area is not pretty and in a central location which feels too public and furthermore has no landscaping or view. Just a concrete area in view of the entire elevator lobby. Parking is an extra $25/night and the garage feels unsafe although we thankfully did not experience any break ins or incidents. Unfortunately this hotel suffers from a lack of quality employees. Tatiana at the front desk was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional when presented with an issue I had. I think friendliness and hospitality should be a minimum requirement when hiring for a front desk position at a hotel. Unfortunately, Tatiana lacked in both of these departments.

I feel like we have given Crown Plaza enough time to do the right thing and they have not. We stayed in Room 1417, arrived about 9 pm with our 2 small grandsons that both had doctors appointments the next morning. My son-in-law booked this room. He has ask for points back and IHG has not responded. I am posting pictures. About 3 am I noticed the bathroom ceiling was leaking. I put a trash can under the leak . I wasn't waking everyone up at 3 am for this. The leak in the ceiling wasn't even the bad part. That room did not have any USB charging ports. Cabinets and furniture had been removed. We had to put luggage on floor. The refrigerator was on the floor. The shower handle was mounted low. They said it was a handicap room. Never seen a handicapped room with a tub. The AC would come on for 20 seconds , shut off for 30-60 seconds and repeat that same cycle all night.I paid $21 for 2 pancakes, about 5 slices of bacon and 6 bite size pieces of cantaloupe. Parking is $25. It was in the top 2 worst rooms we have ever stayed in. I will say the bed was comfortable. It won't let me post the pictures but I will keep trying

This hotel is old. The rooms are dated and simply painted. The mattresses feel like the original 1970s mattresses. For sure they should be replaced because you can feel the springs. To add insult to injury, if you’re looking to make use of the outdoor pool, be aware you might catch something as the pool is just always cloudy be it day or night with the pool lights on. This is the second time I’ve stayed here, simply because I used points and it was conveniently located to the medical district per se but still a ways away. Staff are not very nice nor professional. Be advised that they also charged for parking. I was not aware as the first time I was not charged at all but today I was informed that they do charge $25 a night. I would not have stayed here had I known.

Came for the rodeo travel 4 hours Booked our room a 2 weeks ago for king paid then as well . Got the confirmation everything looked good. When checking my was told the breakfast was amazing which mind you is $20 a person a day. Got to our room it was a double. Went down to fix it. We were told their system showed a double even with our email staying otherwise. They were booked no choice but to keep the double. Okay that’s fine just want a refund difference for not getting the room we paid for. Did not get it. Then had to move rooms at 3 am because the ac didn’t work right was super hot. The front desk lady did move us but not without being rude and accused us of room hopping because the system showed we moved from a king to a double earlier (which was our original room we were supposed to have been in apparently) tho we hadn’t been in another room. Next morning at 7:30 went down for breakfast was your usual hotel breakfast nothing fancy just your basic run of the mill hotel breakfast definitely not $20 worth and everything was cold. Highly upset about this. This trip was supposed to be a birthday surprise and definitely was not a good time at the hotel. Highly disappointed would never recommend it to anyone.

So this is a mixed bag for me. This place could be an easy four star if they just cleaned up a few things. The place has been remodeled, and the guts are fairly good. However are things are broken property wide. The general cleanliness was just off and the maintenance showed that they cut corners wherever they could to maintain the profitability of the property. That’s their prerogative, but it shows front and center. The elevators didn’t work correctly and would stop on random floors. One was out in the elevator certificate was three years past due. Towels were dirty the gym needed maintenance and the water machine in there did not look like it been cleaned for years and was not working correctly. The windows did not look like they’d been cleaned in years and it had an overall dingy fee. Just simple things everywhere. The front desk staff was very friendly when I arrived but others just seemed like they were doing you a favor. The price was right so maybe increase prices a small amount $5 to $10 per room and put it into maintenance and training.

Hotel is doing its best to remodel, but really everything still looks run down, and the smell of humidity is present at all times. We asked for a quiet room and it was nothing of the sort, the thumps and bumps could be heard anyway, so as for sleep it was not the best night. Beware, hotel rate does not include parking, add 25 to that. Wouldn’t come back.

We initially got a double bed room and were upgraded to a suite for our anniversary which was really amazing and we appreciated the upgrade, it truly made our anniversary one of a kind! I booked this amazing staycation for my bf & I. This was suppose to be a first for us and it was amazing. The room was great. I enjoyed myself up until I had to check out. I wasn’t informed that breakfast ended at 11am. So I was extremely disappointed and annoyed when the guy at the desk said “You can’t have any food, there is none left. Today isn’t the 17th and you’re not getting food” but funny as it sounds. Today is the 17th. I came 5 mins after 11am. Saw people eating food from the buffet and were still getting food. I will not ever come back. I live in Houston and was absolute disgusted by the behavior and attitude of the guy at the counter. He had on glasses and heavy set build. The only person who was kind towards me was Kirstin. I loved her attitude towards the entire situation all while dealing with rude, arrogant guests at the time. So disappointed because this night was suppose to be so magical. Ridiculous truly.

This was by FAR the worst hotel I stayed in. I may as well would’ve booked a motel because that was the vibe. When you think Crown Plaza you think clean, luxury, HOLE IN THE ROOF FREE!!!!!! Well this one was a waste of money and time. My first room they placed me on the second floor right next to the laundry room so the washing machine was banging against the wall. So I went down very nicely, because I’m not a mean person. Got the room switched. The next room I received had water dripping down the wall out of the ceiling. When it rains. Well, I reported it and one of the workers laughed when I said “This is ridiculous, now water is running down the wall from the ceiling!” I have the actual video. After reporting it, she said she’d change the room. NEVER HAPPENED even after she left instructions to do so. Same thing with the other room. They basically pushed it over to the next person. So instead of my room being swapped, “maintenance” came up and the first thing he said was “Oh this is the room where the hole is in the roof. So when it rains it’s always going to leak in here.” He then took the trash bag out of my trash can and just put the can on the wall! This was HORRIBLE! So when I complained, All she did was comp parking as if that made a difference. You pay for parking, underwhelming breakfast, and over pay for these rooms. For what? If you’d like to see an actual Crown Plaza, come to the one in New Orleans. Even down to house keeping. I usually like to have everything together for them and I’d just swap them so they don’t have to worry about doing it in my room. So when I did that, she rolled her eyes as if me asking for more towels and linens were offensive. My time in Houston was amazing. The hotel is what put the damper on my trip.

I would never stay at this one again. The water drains in the sink and bathtub were very slow. In the shower the water came up to your ankles. When we complained about it their solution was to lower the water pressure. We had asked for 2 queen size beds, these were full size or princess beds, they were not queen. The mattress were lumpy, pillows flat. There was no soap in the bathroom, bottles were empty. I called the front desk twice waited over 2 hours, I finally had to walk down to the front desk and yes, they saw me coming. The front desk lady gave me 2 little bars of soap and said she would send housekeeping. I had also asked for extra towels. Which never came. Not a good location, highway right in front, no restaurants in walking distance, pool area so small and depressing.

The hotel room was really nice. The hotel overall is also nice. But they are a rip off on parking. The parking cost is literally almost half of what the room cost is. So I stayed here thinking I was getting a good deal, only to realize that they are bamboozling people with extra hidden fees. Thankfully, there is street parking, but it doesn’t work out very well when it’s raining and you have to walk down the block. The Wi-Fi is also really horrible at this property.

After a very long and hot day, my family and I returned to our room to find that no one had cleaned it. When we brought our concern to the front desk, they were very rude and dismissive. The supervisor at the desk, Mark Sharrell, Was very loud, obnoxious, demeaning, and intentionally rude when speaking to my mother and I. He informed us that they refused to clean our room. They would not do so in the subsequent days even if we asked due to having a do-not-disturb sign on our door. We were not properly helped until going to this helpdesk a second time after realizing we had no toilet paper, no garbage bags and no towels. This hotel has inadequate customer service policies, and are very adamant in not cleaning their customers’ rooms. I would not recommend this hotel experience and we will never book with IHG again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in Houston. The property was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, but what truly made the stay exceptional was the outstanding customer service. Hi. We had a comfortable stay here. Our first room was ADA and had no counter and other differences that we did not need nor wanted to stay in. We were here to celebrate my HS Senior's upcoming graduation with a visit to the rodeo and a teenager needs space in the bathroom! Mark at the front desk was amazing and helped us out with our room change. I wanted to say thank you to him. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You can tell they were updated and I see in other reviews they will work to update the lobby and elevator areas soon this year 2026. For the location and price definitely worth it.

Terrible front desk service. 2 staff were solving some issue for a long time, of which one was entirely idling and just watching. When I merely suggested can one staff member help us check in because a line was building up, the other (more senior) staff was in such resentment and spoke in loud voice. While she went through the motion of saying such scripts about welcoming loyal IHG diamond member etc, I had no interest in ever coming back to this hotel again. Btw this hotel is right next to highway, and charges $25 for parking a night. Don’t stay here. There are better options.

We stayed at Crowne Plaza Houston for the visit we had while we had with Texas Children's Hospital. The hotel was amazing. Mark was awesome. We had an issue with the bed. The mattress was very hard. Mark went above and beyond to assist us while on our stay. He physically went and showed us some other rooms to where we could either press down or sit on mattress in other rooms until we found one that was comfortable. Which we did. I had a highly disappointing stay at this property and cannot recommend it. The air conditioning in my room was completely broken, making it incredibly uncomfortable to sleep. When I went down to the front desk to address the issue and request a room change, the agent, Macy, was incredibly rude and completely unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or show any basic level of compassion. My mother has an appointment at MD Anderson and she’s undergoing treatment this morning and she could not sleep well either. All we wanted was a room change so we could get decent sleep before my mother’s procedure.

The girls at the front desk are super nice and really helpful and I think even though the rooms can be updated to something more modern, the beds were amazing that were with the comfortable as well. The shower and all the things in the bathroom, they were really clean and all the things you needed are there it comes with a mini fridge in a microwave and a coffee and tea machine which I think it’s really really appreciated it and also the Internet could be upgraded because it thing it lacks some connectivity and some areas of the room, but overall great stay will definitely stay there again

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Houston from October 24–27, and while the staff provided outstanding customer service, the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms left much to be desired. On my first night, I discovered a pair of old, dirty, crusty socks on the side of the refrigerator, which made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The fridge itself looked like something from a college dorm—small, dated, and oddly placed right outside the bathroom door. It was inconvenient and even unsafe, as the bathroom door could easily swing open and hit someone reaching into the fridge. When I called Guest Services and spoke to Lola, the Front Desk Manager, she was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely appalled when I sent her photos. She moved me to another room right away, and I truly appreciated her concern and responsiveness. Unfortunately, the **second room (Room 1811) wasn’t much better. The couch was stained and discolored, and when I checked the bed, I noticed spots on the sheets and even inside the duvet. I reached out again, and Nikki, who was also working the front desk that evening, was equally courteous and apologetic. She asked for photos and invited me to come to the front so she and Lola could assist. Once again, Lola was extremely apologetic and accommodated me with another room. Thankfully, this third room was much better, and I appreciated how both women handled everything with genuine empathy and professionalism and I want to express sincere gratitude to both Lola and Nikki they went above and beyond to make me feel heard, respected, and appreciated. Their customer service was easily the highlight of my stay! That said, there are several areas the hotel needs to address: *The $25 nightly parking fee is excessive, especially with the parking lot under renovation. A temporary discount would have been reasonable. * In Room 1501 (my third room), the toilet paper holder was loose and nearly falling off, and the thermostat was very old, with manual knobs and a metal switch. *Guests should be able to adjust the temperature year-round. The heating situation was uncomfortable and we were told the building’s heat wouldn’t be turned on until the “winter months,” yet it was already cold at night in October. We ended up running the shower’s hot water to create steam just to warm the room. * The breakfast was disappointing for $19 per person; it resembled a basic continental breakfast, not the quality one would expect from a Crowne Plaza. * Lastly, I strongly recommend the hotel replace fabric sofas with leather or vinyl. Fabric seating retains stains and bacteria and can be a breeding ground for bedbugs—definitely not ideal for guest comfort. Overall: The staff deserves five stars, but the rooms, cleanliness, and amenities fall short of the Crowne Plaza brand. The property clearly needs updates, better housekeeping. If it hadn’t been for Lola and Nikki’s kindness and professionalism, I likely would have checked out early. They truly salvaged what could have been a completely negative experience, and for that, I’m grateful.

I traveled to Houston from San Diego to visit family. While the location is good, I recommend checking in during normal hours if possible. We arrived around 10:30 PM and checked in at 11 PM. We booked a single bed room, but received a two-bedroom suite. The staff was not friendly or accommodating, and the room was dirty. I've stayed at many Crowne Plazas and this was by far the most unpleasant experience. We left as soon as possible for a different location. I would have appreciated some understanding from staff, as flights can be very exhausting. Overall, it could be worse, but if you appreciate good service and nice hotels, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Booked two rooms, both on different floors. The AC for both are on and set cool and on high at a low temp.. Neither room has gotten lower than 70. It’s been on for 7 hours now. Also have kill ROACHES in one of the bathrooms. Texted the front desk number all to be told to check back after 7a.m. Because they don’t respond between 10-7… Definitely will NEVER be staying here or any other IGH again. Stayed one night and had to request a different room due to dirty bathroom. Then the second room didn’t have all the amenities but was otherwise clean. For the size of the building and the reputation its supposed to have you would think they would be more meticulous about cleanliness and the quality of the breakfast but thats not the reality unfortunately. Service was great tho, all the people were amazing but the quality of the hotel is not there in the details and leaves much to be desired. However, I would stay again if needed due to the area, near the galleria and Kirby.

Well...here's the story... So I booked the Crowne through my IHG account. Location was right, reviews were good, just a couple nights for a dance competition...if only. The Beginning We were late leaving our house so we arrived at the Crowne around 1130pm. Sent a message ahead so we didnt lose our reservation. Had to explain what 2330 stood for in my text message...already worried... Part 1 - Arrival Pulled in, checked in, asked about parking my truck and trailer...was told to check the oversized vehicle parking by the entrance. I can confirm there are spots labeled as such, all with little cars and SUVs parked, happy as could be. It's ok, there is parking around back...not really. Turned around three times, decided I would be parking a couple locks away so I made the block and dropped off the girls and gear. Pulled around back, parked as best I could and started walking. Part 2 - The Smell Half way to the hotel my wife calls and tells me the room smells like a decomp. That might sound very specific; however, I will attest that we are both 20 year paramedics and may have seen some things... For those fortunate enough to have never experienced a dead body... Think...a refrigerator, after a natural disaster, taped shut and left at the road...(NEVER open them!) That is what my wife described. I went to the front desk, advised the clerk and received a look, absent of thought or care, and a response of '...OK. what do you want me to do...' *Me* Well, I would like a different room. *Clerk* 'Unfortunately, we are totally booked and I don't have a room to offer. But we can go spray some deodorant.' *Me* That is not an acceptable solution. My wife described the room as smelling of death. Flowers and lemons dont fix what is causing the smell. *Clerk* 'I can comp you the room for tonight.' *Me* Thank you, but, again, I am not staying in that room. Part 3 - The Confirmation *Clerk calls over a security guard.* *Clerk* 'This gentleman's wife says their room smells like a dead body. Can you go check it out?' *Security Guard* 'If it smells like a dead body, I don't want to go look, shouldn't we call the police?' *Clerk* 'Just go smells the room.' ...and away he goes... While this is going on, I am booking a different hotel and speaking with my wife. *Wife* 'Security guard is here. He just made a sour face and said '...I think it is in the carpet...' Then he walked away. *Me* Well come on down, I already booked another hotel. Part 4 - The Anti-Climax *Clerk* After the security guard called with his report. 'Would you like me to cancel your stay?' *Me* I would appreciate it. Epilogue I still do not think I saw any meaningful thoughts during our interactions but alas...back to the truck and to the next hotel. I gave the location 5 starts because there was this random sci-fi store next door i wanted to see and the food options looked amazing. Obviously none of that happened but it was not the locations fault. Overall, will never try a Crowne again...

The lady at the front desk (Kristen I believe) that helped us check in was lovely, easy check in experience. The issue started with a massive cockroach being right outside the elevator on our floor. We checked our room and everything seemed okay but when we spotted a mess on the bed spread, house keeping proceeded to tell us “it’s a small stain, not that big of a deal”. After the roach, the stain, and her attitude we were turned off and decided to leave. The front desk (not the same woman that checked us in) didn’t even ask why we weren’t comfortable staying. No, they didn’t have to ask but you would think there would be some concern. Overall the cleanliness is what made us leave the hotel. UPDATE: I was told I would get refunded. It has been a fight for me to get my money back and I have yet to receive it. The manager that told me to reach out never got back to me, and every time I called I was always told I would get a call back and never did. Overall, don’t waste your money. Worse hotel experience I’ve ever had.

Love that place UPDATE TO MARK G HEAD GUY AT THIS HOTEL. I need to tell you one thing and I'm so sorry I forgot. I met a young man that you have working for you early this morning at the desk next to check in. That young man has got to be one of the best, honest, true people you could have ever hired. That young man there is worth his weight in gold. Give that young man a raise and let homing climb the ladder. He had one suggestion for me when i asked him if I could throw away my suitcase that got damaged on my flight to Houston. His suggestion was, give it to someone homeless they would appreciate it. That hit my heart and soul. Here i say garbage and they would say that it was gold. Sadly, I couldn't do that. I was only jumping on the interstate and running to the airport. I did not have the time. Yet, what that young man said, was humbling. That shows every boy of character in him. Please please give him a step up in life. He will do good

I read about this from previous guests, but thought it was an isolated issue. However, the bathtub in my room was severely clogged, and the water would not drain. My spouse and I had flown in from California around 10pm and we checked in at 11pm. At first everything seemed fine until we had realized that they had put us in a two twin bed room instead of the King suite that I had booked with online and the people next door were attempting to open the connecting door. I had discussed this with the front desk operators at the time and they essentially told me there was nothing they could do in a condescending tone because I had booked with a third party and instead they just sent up the security guard to talk to the people next door. I had confirmed with the third party I had booked with that I did indeed had a King room and when they had attempted to contact the hotel they received no response despite two individuals being at the front desk. I had went down there to speak to them myself about the confirmation and received the same response in an even more condescending tone stating that since I booked with a third party there was nothing that could be done and I should just bring my concerns to the manager in the morning meaning I was stuck in a room that I did not pay for with neighbors that were loud and knew that we were uncomfortable next to at 2am. The next morning we woke up and had seen that our room was also way dirtier due to the sun shining in and revealing multiple dark red stains on the carpet and multiple brown stains on the chair. We immediately checked out and the new front desk staff was a lot nicer and informed me that the manager would reach out to me. After my spouse and I had already left and found a lodge near by that was way more accommodating, comfortable and clean; we had received a call from the manager who stated the exact same thing and even stating that she would talk to the staff about the issues we faced overall refusing to change the room even after we already had left the building. If you plan to stay here book directly from their website and don’t check in at night unless you want a frustrating experience and exorbitant parking fees .

TV in main room not working. Called twice to the front desk and nothing. Had to go down there and get mad before anything was done. Toilet in bathroom running after every flush, my husband had to fix it. No fan in the bathroom so showered were terrible and three people in a room, no fan, not fun. I asked for extra bedding for the pull out. The maid brought towels. Another trip to the front desk. For 2 nights at 250$ save your money and go to super 8 or motel 6. Tried to treat ourselves for our 13 th wedding anniversary and I am kind of sad we waisted this much money. No breakfast, 25$ a night parking. Just terrible all around.

Room and bathroom very clean. Comfortable bed. Room was too warm and the thermostat did not work. Maintenance came and said he could either make the room cold or hot. I chose cool which worked out for sleeping under the covers, but uncomfortable during the day. Very slow elevators. Good Wi-Fi. For such a large hotel, (18 floors) one washing machine and two dryers were inadequate. Had to wait in line, then for the last person who used the machines to return and unload them. Excellent breakfast. Restaurant was closed for lunch!

I stayed here for eight days and somewhat enjoyed my stay overall. The room was clean, and several staff members were genuinely kind and accommodating. Kristina at the front desk was especially wonderful. She had excellent customer service and handled requests professionally and efficiently. Most of the male staff members I interacted with were also very helpful and accommodating. However, my experience was inconsistent depending on who was working. There was one daytime front desk employee (AA woman with crimped voluminous clavicle length hair) in particular who repeatedly shut down simple requests without effort or explanation. When I asked about extending my stay, early check in, or early check out, I was immediately told nothing could be done. Yet when I spoke to other front desk staff or called the hotel line, those same requests were handled quickly and without issue. The inconsistency was frustrating and made the service feel dependent on mood rather than policy. I actively tried to avoid her, however, sometimes she’d be the only one in the front desk or answering phones. Another issue occurred after I extended my stay. Housekeeping was apparently not informed of the extension. While I was asleep, a staff member knocked aggressively on my door loud enough to startle me and was dismissive even after I explained that I had extended and did not require housekeeping and I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my knob. It was unnecessary and uncomfortable. A quick call to the front desk would have been the appropriate thing to do and not scare me out of my REM sleep knocking like the police. The room’s temperature was also permanently set to 73-75, which to me is very hot. My room was hot for days. I finally complained and a front desk gentlemen kindly assisted me with getting a kind Hispanic maintenance man to adjust it. I’ve never been in a hotel where the temperature was permanently adjusted. It’s inconvenient. Because of these service inconsistencies and the lack of internal communication, I will not be rebooking. While parts of my stay were pleasant, professionalism and consistency matter, and unfortunately that was lacking.

The rooms had roaches!🪳🪳 The bathroom had mold around the tub and shower 🚿 the cleaning lady didn't clean the room very well at all leaving crumbs from the previous night on the table and the beds were poorly made up. When transferred to the second room. The security door latch was broken to prevent people from coming into the room. The air conditioning was out all night, so we were extremely hot and uncomfortable during our stay. There were no vending machines available, and a small bottle of water cost $6.75, which was unreasonable. Parking was also very confusing and inconvenient because we were never informed that one side would close at a certain time. To make matters worse, our room ran out of toilet paper, and the elevators were malfunctioning, taking guests to different floors than the ones selected. Overall, this was a horrible experience, and unfortunately we will not be staying here again.

I booked my reservation through Priceline. I was in town for business and had a two day stay. During that stay I witnessed roaches in the bathroom, couldn’t watch TV due to the channel not being available or the available channel was lagging in pixelated so I could not watch TV the entire time that I plan to just stay in and relax. I did inform the front desk of both of these inconveniences. They did call maintenance to my room to “fix” the TV. He literally came into my room just to tell me that the satellite isn’t that great and then left. I asked the front desk if they were gonna do any compensations for the inconvenience of the TV and unsanitary restroom situation with the roaches. She said due to a third-party they can do nothing. I said what about the parking? She said she will take care of the parking to my stay. The next morning I checked out, she did not take care of the parking as she said, and didn’t notate anything suggesting she was going to I got with Priceline and told them everything, they got with management and still decided to do nothing about a refund or reduction on the room. I will not be staying here again. Also, the price may be low on Priceline, but they charge $25 a day for parking.

I’m currently staying at the Crowne Plaza Houston Medical Center/Galleria for work, and I travel frequently, over 40 nights just last year alone. After long travel days, convenience is not optional, it’s expected. This hotel heavily advertises “convenience,” and based on the recent renovations and branding, I expected an experience that matched that message. Instead, it’s been the complete opposite. Tonight I ordered DoorDash, and I was told delivery drivers are not allowed to come up to guest rooms. I had to go downstairs to get it myself. That alone defeats the purpose of convenience, especially for business travelers. What made this worse was the front desk experience. I was told, in a rude and dismissive tone, “This is not a luxury hotel.” That response alone speaks volumes about the level of service here. If this policy is truly about safety, then it doesn’t make sense. The elevators don’t require a key card, and there are no secured entry points. So calling this a safety measure feels more like an excuse than a policy. If you’re going to market convenience, then deliver convenience. If you’re not, then stop advertising it. At the very least, offer a solution, even something as simple as staff assisting with deliveries. Instead, guests are left to deal with an experience that falls short in both service and consistency. As someone who trains customer service and sales teams for a living, I can confidently say this is a breakdown in both messaging and execution. This has not been a convenient stay, and it certainly hasn’t matched what was advertised. Management needs to take a serious look at both how guests are being treated and how this property is positioning itself.

The front desk staff and house keeping were great. The rooms were very nice. The deposit was ridiculous and is my biggest complaint. My bill was 400 dollars and the deposit was 300. For a hotel that has no room service, no mini bar, and no way to charge anything to the room I’m not sure what “incidentals” the funds are being held for. I was not the only person complaining about this in the lobby as I left. I’m in Houston frequently and will not stay here again due to the large deposit for a hotel room. The elevators have issues. I’m not sure what’s up with that. The restaurant was fine and the food was decent. Again, it can’t be charged to your room so I’m not sure what the deposit is for, unless you’re just expecting people to trash the room.

I would strongly caution against staying at this hotel and recommend choosing another property in the area instead. I booked a room a month in advance and am an IHG member with status, yet check-in took 15–20 minutes because the hotel had oversold my room type. I was placed in a different room with no option. The room had multiple issues: a leaking toilet that covered the bathroom floor overnight, an uncomfortable sagging bed, stained towels on both days despite housekeeping, and a non-working in-room phone, which meant I couldn’t contact the front desk or housekeeping. After multiple inconveniences, I requested a one-hour late checkout. This resulted in repeated back-and-forths with the front desk (Kristin and Lola) and ultimately only a 15-minute extension. Despite that, housekeeping knocked on my door three times within minutes asking if I was checking out, which forced me to leave early. Even finding the room was frustrating—8th-floor signage was confusing, pointed in the wrong direction, and some doors lacked clear numbering. Overall: poor maintenance, poor communication, and no meaningful service recovery. I would not stay here again until these issues are addressed

Stayed here recently and had a great overall experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, which made the stay easy and relaxing. The location is excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful, definitely a strong point of the hotel. Parking is the main downside — pretty expensive, which knocks it down slightly. That said, the unexpected free live Jerry Springer episode at 4am was… memorable entertainment I didn’t know I needed. 4 stars for location and staff, solid stay overall.

The manager had the nastiest and rudest attitude. She told us we had an “amazing view,” and that was not true at all. When we got into the room, the carpet was wet, the place smelled bad, the hallways were so ugly it honestly felt like a prison, and there were roaches. We ended up having a disagreement with the manager over a separate issue, and instead of handling it professionally, she spoke to us very disrespectfully. The situation escalated, and we were kicked out at 2 a.m. Mind you, we are two young girls in a city we are not familiar with. That was very unsafe and unnecessary. Overall, the management is horrible, the hotel is dirty, it stinks, the carpets were wet, and there were roaches on the floor. There is a reason it’s cheap. We will never be coming back again. Update: Thank you for your response. I’m open to discussing this, please provide direct contact details.

Parking garage elevator broke down, main hotel elevator broke down. Another guests things went missing a day after mine. Hotel staff answers with “I’m sorry there’s nothing else I can tell you” They ask you to leave a number to reach out to speak about the incident and you never get a call back. For long stays they don’t replace the sheets so if you spill something, you’ll be sleeping in stained sheets the rest of your stay. This was honestly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. When I booked, the hotel advertised free breakfast. Naturally, I assumed that meant breakfast would be included each day of our stay. However, we were told it only included one breakfast and only for two people. Since there were three people in our room, they wanted to charge over $21 for the third person. The staff, especially the man working in the breakfast area, was very rude about it. Because of this, we only had breakfast once during our three-day stay. The parking situation was also frustrating. We were given a parking pass that worked the first day, but after that it kept trying to charge us $25 every time we went in and out of the parking lot.The elevators felt unsafe, and the rooms were not clean. Unfortunately, the same issues happened to the other four families that traveled with us. The hotel also smelled bad throughout. On top of that, some staff members made sarcastic comments and even used inappropriate language around guests, which felt very unprofessional. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience for our group. I would not stay here again.

By far the worst experience ever at any hotel. Crowne Plaza Medical District in Houston is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in terms of location, staff, and security. On Feb. 15, 2026, at precisely 4:30 AM, a group of trashy guests decided they would bring the after party back to their room. Blasting music, screaming and yelling that was audible through multiple floors. It would take 3 call to reach front desk, in which the replied at the time was, “their security was making the rounds and that they’ll address the problem.” The trashy party continue to happen until 6:00 AM, without ANY intervention from front desk or security. When we approached front desk as to why they did nothing to stop the incident, the Crowne Plaza management offered up nothing but lies and deceit. Management informed us that we were “the only room that called.” That is a lie, given my friend in a different room also called to complain about the disturbance. The only logically conclusion we have is that the Crowne plaza management is lazy and incompetent at their job. And when offered a chance to correct their incompetency, chose to become liars instead. The “not my problem” attitude was clear from management. I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you want to have no sleep, no security, and no safety

I traveled with my husband and 2 young children from our Thanksgiving holiday to do some sight seeing. We love Houston as it is my husbands home town and we got in late on Thanksgiving and it was quick getting our room and parking. We were a little surprised at how much it costs to park especially since it is self parking. We did stay 7 nights and unfortunately on our 2nd night our children were sick. The staff was very helpful with bringing new sheets and towels for our room. The bathroom is stocked with essentials including shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and even hand lotion. The hotel appears to be a mix of what has been there for a long time and very new updates. I will say that if you gave incredibly high standards this is not the hotel for you. Elevators are a little scary as they are slow and they bob up and down a little as you travel. There is scuffed paint, cracks and dents. Our room had an ancient microwave and tiny refrigerator but I saw that others had updated appliances. They did make sure our room at a large flat screen TV which was a nice surprise as TVs are usually quite small in hotels. We used the laundry a lot while staying and it is convenient although expensive at $2 per load and there was only 1 working washing machine and dryer. The ice machine was broken on our floor so we had to go to another floor which wasn't a huge deal for us since we were in and out of the hotel often. Parking was annoying to say the least. It was expensive and half the time our paper didn't work and we had to go inside and have it reset. Someone drove into the parking system and it wouldn't open so we could leave. I would say this hotel is nice if you are here for a night, maybe a weekend if you need to be close to things in the area. It served it's purpose for us for what we needed.

DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU WILL HAVE YOUR THINGS STOLEN. first off, parking is an extra $25/night which they don’t tell you until check in. our room had a strange smell, and the water in our bathroom was yellow with another strange smell. front desk did nothing about this. however, I can tolerate slow service and stinky rooms. what I cannot tolerate is having my belongings stolen by staff. management’s response ranged from indifferent to useless. if you value your personal property, do not stay here. after checkout, I realized the items were missing. I spent a week calling and getting placed on hold, with every employee claiming they couldn’t help. I finally had a friend nearby drive to the hotel and check for me, and after making them also wait half an hour, the manager claimed they could only find one of the items. the items were left together, one on top of the other. it is impossible to only have one. mysteriously, the most valuable item was the one they claimed they could not find. the hotel failed to investigate meaningfully or take responsibility. A place that cannot safeguard guests belongings does not deserve your money. I highly recommend ANYWHERE else.
