DJ Tamim

DJ Tamim · DJ, MC & Dhol Player · Houston, TX

When you need one person who can do it all — DJ, MC, and play live dhol — DJ Tamim is your answer. Based in the Houston area with over 20 years of experience in the South Asian entertainment industry, Tamim Shakir is one of the most versatile and complete wedding entertainers in Texas, bringing a rare triple-threat skill set to every event he touches.

As a DJ, DJ Tamim commands the floor with an extensive music library spanning Bollywood, Bhangra, Punjabi, Hip Hop, R&B, and everything in between — seamlessly reading the crowd and keeping the energy exactly where it needs to be from the first entrance to the final dance. As an MC, he keeps the program tight, the transitions smooth, and the guests fully engaged throughout the night. And when the baraat rolls in and the dhol needs to thunder, Tamim picks up the drum himself — delivering the kind of live percussive energy that no speaker system can replicate.

With two decades behind him, DJ Tamim has seen — and handled — it all. He brings a calm, professional presence to even the most complex multi-function weddings, and his deep familiarity with South Asian traditions means couples can trust him to honor every moment with the care it deserves.
