Dominica Marie Soliz — native Houstonian, proud Brown business owner, and the artist behind DomSol Henna Creations — discovered henna in 2002 during one of the most challenging seasons of her life. What began as a form of personal therapy became a calling, a craft, and eventually a full-time mission to share the healing power of henna with her community.
Established in 2004 and based in Spring Branch, Dominica has spent over two decades refining her unique artistic style — one that blends technical skill with deep intuition, metaphysical connection, and a genuine energy exchange between artist and client. Every piece she creates carries intention, meaning, and a piece of her story.
Dominica is widely known for her transformative henna crown work, offering free henna crowns to chemotherapy patients who wish to reconnect with their natural beauty. This deeply personal service was featured on Fox 26's Feel Good Friday in 2015 and has since become a cornerstone of her mission. October 23rd is now recognized as #HennaHealsHouston Day in the city — a celebration of healing, strength, and community that Dominica created through the power of her art.
