K.I. Weddings (Luxury Wedding Planning & Design)
South Asian & Fusion Wedding Planning · Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

K.I. Weddings, founded in 2008 as Kwaab Impressions and led by founder, creative director, and senior lead planner Jignasa Patel, is an award-winning South Asian and fusion wedding planning company with nearly two decades of experience. Their name comes from “khwab,” meaning “a dream.” The team crafts luxury weddings that reflect each couple and honor the stories, traditions, and dreams that brought them there, balancing every detail so that no story or history is overshadowed by another.

Their planning and design process begins with understanding each couple’s vision, then crafting unique designs, customizing the celebration, and organizing every detail, including timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships. The team guides couples through traditional rituals while incorporating fresh ideas and personal touches, and oversees the wedding day itself, anticipating needs and adapting seamlessly as the day unfolds. Their approach is built on transparency, advocacy, diversity, and collaboration, with clear communication that keeps couples in full control of their day.

As part of the South Asian community themselves, the team has firsthand experience with the customs and expectations of these celebrations. Jignasa is one of the most recognized educators on South Asian weddings in the DFW area and has taught venues including the Four Seasons and the Hard Rock about the intricacies of these celebrations. Their work has been featured in publications including Brides and Vogue.

There are truly not enough words to express how grateful we are for the KI wedding team. Jignasa and the team had an incredible attention to detail, and truly got to know us and our vision for the wedding. They listened to what mattered most to us and our families and helped incorporate it into each detail of the wedding! Every part of our wedding was planned with intention and love. The events were managed effortlessly while handling so much behind the scenes, and because of them, we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment of our day. They helped our parents, who were initially skeptical about the need for a wedding planner, recognize its importance so that everyone could be fully present and enjoy the celebrations. The greatest gift was the relationship we built with them. By the end of this experience, they no longer are just our wedding planners, they are family. We will forever be thankful for the love, warmth, and heart they poured into making our wedding so meaningful and unforgettable.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend KI Weddings based on our experience. The whole process was frustrating and disappointing, mainly due to how unprofessional things felt from start to finish. I noticed they were regularly late in meeting vendor deadlines, and we felt like we had to keep following up in order for them to do anything productive. This made planning more stressful than it needed to be. Communication often came across as dismissive, and at times they were rude—not just to us, but to our family as well, which was really upsetting. My family got the impression she didn’t really want to speak with us. On the wedding day, things didn’t improve. There were moments where voices were raised at clients, which is the last thing you expect or want on such an important day. A wedding planner is supposed to help keep things calm and organized, not add more stress for the bride and groom. What really stood out in a negative way was what happened after the events. There was no real coordination for cleanup the night of the wedding, and our family ended up handling it themselves. On top of that, she left for Dallas the next morning while there were still two events remaining, leaving our family to figure everything out on their own. It felt like we were left hanging when we needed support the most. It was pretty humiliating to pick up trash ourselves and then the next day land up at the venue only to be told by catering they don’t know where to put anything. I feel like I missed out a lot of the experience I wanted from this wedding because of K.I. weddings, and especially because of Jignasa. In the end of the day, a wedding only happens once. Overall, it just didn’t meet expectations. The lack of professionalism, organization, and basic respect made the experience far more stressful than it should have been.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with the K.I. Weddings team throughout our wedding journey. From the very beginning, they were supportive, organized, and genuinely cared about making every detail perfect for us. The communication and coordination during the planning process made everything feel smooth and stress-free. On the wedding day, the team handled everything beautifully, allowing us and our families to truly enjoy the celebration without worrying about arrangements. Their professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail really stood out. One of the most memorable parts for us was how comfortable and special they made us feel during every moment. We’re truly grateful for all the effort, patience, and warmth the team showed us. Highly recommended for any couple looking for a seamless and memorable wedding experience!

Before making any decision, ask yourself why would a vendor suddenly choose to respond to year old reviews now? Could it be to increase visibility of those reviews and hide her recent actions? Jignasa and KI have pros and cons but unfortunately the cons are massive. For one she is unorganized as many others have said; her entire operation is an ancient spreadsheet which is sparsely worked on, you could likely ChatGPT a superior version. Her team's ideas are the same rehashed boring tiktok/instagram trends and she balks at the very mention of doing something interesting or unique if it means the slightest amount of work for her. Her vendor suggestions are basically just her friends, we found all of our own superior vendors for less. And to top it all off, she is unreliable in the clutch. Crunch time is the one time I feel a wedding planner is actually needed and its where she failed to show up (literally). To make matters worse, she is immature. From asking vendors to lie to us, to last minute switches on our "lead planner", to billing us over 500 dollars for gas for a couple hour long drive. To gaslighting us and our parents that basic requests literally every planner does are out of scope...it was some sort of journey dealing with her. Looking through her reviews and talking to other clients and vendors, this is a known problem with Jignasa and K.I... unfortunately it is harder than you think to have honest reviews stay up on Knot or Wedding Wire (if you check right now looks like 3 contacts/employees posted reviews suspiciously right after a negative one lol i wonder what that was) We have so much to say about this company and wish we were given a warning before signing her. I will admit, Jignasa was a great interview. She does a good job selling herself and competence. She is confident and cares, I have no doubt she USED to be a good planner. But then the money started coming, she probably realized she can charge more and more and get away with a lot without repercussions. Clients try to move on, trust me, we tried to. But its not fair to future clients (especially at the prices Desi weddings go for now) to have an experience like ours. I know its a long review, hope it was helpful. In short: do you feel like it is your life goal to plan your own wedding, be gaslit, and pay a toooon of money for the privilege? Then Jignasa is your girl. Happy to provide proof/evidence for any of the above.

I wanted to share my personal experience with KI weddings and Jignasa. As a 2025 bride, I had a meeting with her to see if I could hire her as my wedding planner. During the meeting, she expressed some concerns with my vision for my wedding and used a tone I felt was rather condescending. She told me that my budget was simply too "low" for my wedding. It was merely our first meeting and a major turn off to experience her rude attitude. Separately, my best friend went with K.I. Weddings and I was able to witness the type of work she did for her wedding. The work was mediocre, but the shocking thing was that she abruptly left my friend's wedding in the middle of her wedding weekend and only completed 1/3 events she agreed to do. I then found out she refused to pay back my friend for the work she DID NOT complete. As the bride's close friend, I was left doing unthinkable tasks to help with last minute coordination and watched her pay extra in damages left and right while crying and getting sick. It was heartbreaking to watch the amount of turmoil it caused the bride/groom and her family. Additionally, another one of my close family friends also used K.I. Weddings (Jignasa was her wedding planner as well) and had nothing but negative things to say about her. The bride told me how she felt Jignasa was extremely controlling and demanding money and left and right for the tiniest amount of work. The bride told me she did majority of the work but felt like her money was going down the drain with this planner. Also, she felt Jignasa's communication was extremely poor and most of her vendors disliked working with her. Unfortunately I do not have positive experiences to share with regards to this wedding planning company. It seems stressful, anxiety-inducing, and risky to work with someone who has exhibited concerning behavior while charging (what I feel to be) way too much for the work they claim to do.
