Love & Make offers a standout Houston-based team-building and celebration activity, held in a chic and laid-back atmosphere. They'll teach you how to make something you'll love — a fun, hands-on candle-making experience perfect for weddings and celebrations of every kind.
Co-founder Amara first had the idea in 2017 while unable to return home to Houston during Hurricane Harvey. Stuck out of state with friends, she kept busy with a trial-run candle-making class and had a blast. She then teamed up with sister-in-law and co-founder Bukola to hold their first Houston-area pilot workshop during the holidays, and by January 2018, Love & Make was officially incorporated. Since then, they've hosted numerous workshops and special events throughout the Houston area.
Love & Make offers guests the chance to step outside the box and make something unique and memorable with friends, family, or colleagues. Each participant leaves with a fun, creative experience and a wonderful custom-scented candle. Classes typically run about 1.5 to 2 hours, with timing varying by group size — a great fit for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, or simply a fun addition to your wedding weekend.
Workshops are open to the public daily at their studio in the charming Rice Village area, and Love & Make is also happy to host private events and parties throughout the week. They're mobile as well, and will happily travel to your location anywhere in Houston or the surrounding areas.
