Had a wonderful experience in Masala Hut. I'm from Dallas, and have been always struggling to get a good Kerala restaurant. And finding vegetarian dishes in a Kerala restaurant in Dallas was a humongous task …
Amazing Indian restaurant with delicious food, generous portions, and excellent customer service. Every dish is full of authentic flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome. …
Food was sooo good first time I ever had beef curry and the bread is soo good my favorite place right now. Like soo good I ate my plate clean.Nice level of spice and rice soo soft and a really good texture. 9/10
I have reviewed this place earlier, but I visited again after the management change—and I must say, they have maintained their standards and even gone above and beyond. The food is just as delicious as before, if not better, and the service …
Editing my review after the new management took over. Good food. Good quantity and quality. The place maintained the standards set by …
Stopped for Kerala lunch, limited dishes available. They serve kerala rice and was bit pricey -$32 for 2 ppl hence 4 stars against the dishes. …
The bestest malayali restaurant I’ve been to in Houston. We were a party of 6 and were the only ones there in the afternoon. The chechi at the restaurant was truly a great host and very friendly. …
Customer service is amazing 👏 The meal was delicious 😋 Prices under $20 for each meal😉 …
Didn't like the food. Friendly staff, clean inside,. May be will never visit again and will never recommend this place. Visited during my trip to Houston, didn't like the biriyani, didn't like the beef at all, didn't liked the chicken, appam was ok. porota was not to the mark.
The folks at Masala Hut are sincere in offering very good Kerala cuisine in Houston. Their Onam sadhya was excellent and matched by their service. We tried the mutton biriyani which was very good. We will be back to try more of their offerings.
Although disappointed to discover they were closed for dine-in after driving from Mansfield, the mutton biryani and Kerala meal truly stood out. The beef fry and fish curry were also exceptionally delightful, making the journey worthwhile with the delicious food they offered.
We had gotten Onam food from masala hut. Really amazing and quality quantity was all top notch . Will recommend masala hut to each and every person.
Fresh and home made taste. Very quick service and looks like family run establishments. The fish fry was one of the best I’ve had. The non veg platter is way too expensive I must say even for how big it was. The Sambhar etc were too limited for the price.
Awesome kerala meals, fish curry was yummy Also the restaurent owner was nice and taking good care of customers which is a plus.
Firstly, the lady was kind, but service and food was painful. I waited months to eat South Indian food. Growing up with mostly Pakistani, North Indian, and Bangladeshi food I looked forward to something different. This is what I got. I …
Had food from Masala Hut for a valakappu – the chicken biriyani was absolutely amazing, and the crab roast was delicious too, spice lovers will enjoy it more. We also got an Onam Sadhya for a small get-together with friends, and even though …
My cousin catered from here last weekend for a party and I was blown away! Can’t wait to come in and try out more dishes.
Went there a week before Onam and the only option was Sadya. Was excited to find a Malayali restaurant to take some friends who were trying Kerala food for the first time. Food was okay, nothing quite remarkable, was disappointed at the fake plantain leaves :/
The food was wonderful! The Kerala meals, fish fry, and paal porotta were all exceptional — truly authentic Kerala flavors. Definitely coming back again!
It's a low cost gem! Keep it good and affordable!
We visited this place while our visit to texas in the month of September. We liked the food. Parotta was great. Chicken curry and the kerala thali was good. The fish fry was ok not that spicy. Would visit and try somthing different during our next visit.
Excellent food. If you miss Kerala and the food please visit here. Everything was authentic
Best restaurant ever!!! Such delicious food and today they served an amazing traditional Onam Sadhya. So tasty!!!! They have the best fish fry too in town. Excellent service and friendly staff. Mouth watering food and authentic Kerala food.
Food was good. Tasty authentic Kerala dishes. Feels homemade. But the owner could have been more polite. The quantity for take out meals were very less. Service could be better. Wasn't happy with the service, but you can overlook that if you want good kerala food.
One of my coworkers is originally from Kerala and he said he loved this place so we wanted to check it out. We tried the meals (non-vegetarian) and it was delicious, they give you more if you want more too!
I live nearby from this restaurant. I visited here first time with my kids after it started under new management. My kids are goodies. They like biryani too much. I ordered chicken 65 and chicken biryani. Worst food we ate ever. Chicken 65, …
This is the former Delicious Kerala kitchen (DKK) that was known for amazing food. A new management has taken over - very nice people. But the food quality was disappointing compared to the excellent home-like flavors of DKK. Maybe these …
Service is good. Employees are amazing service. Good quality Food
I bought chicken curry and beef curry and they tasted the same. However, if you don't adjust your seasoning, it will be bad in the future because beef curry has the same taste as beef curry. I'm saying this because I didn't get it completely.
They served authentic Kerala dishes(South Indian dishes) that were tasty and felt fresh. However, the service needs improvement, as the staff did not check in with us or asked if we need anything else, including water; we had to request it …
Wonderful masala dosa, delicious curries, lovely parottas and appam. Our server was very accommodating and friendly, the cook/chef came over to greet us with a light and tasty dessert. Worth returning!
I was really craving a Kerala beef roast & parotta and Masala Hut nailed it! The taste was so flavorful; beef was tender and the parotta was soft & fresh! Grade: A+ 😀 …
Very nice meal! Cheap and delicious! Adipolli ooonu. Lots of curries and side dishes and porotta is really good too!
New owners. Excellent customer service. The food is authentic and very tasty. The fish curry, kappa, chicken varathu curry, beef and avial are the best in town.
This place is for anyone who wants a taste of Mom's cooking. Authentic Indian cooking. Nothing different from regular home cooked food. No real menu..or, all menu items are not available all the time. No buffet, only a la carte. Dine in customer service is poor. About $20 per person.
Authentic central Travancore dishes. Had lunch thali and fried fish. The taste took me back home. The chef is from Thiruvalla. If you want authentic Travancore food in Houston, you will not be disappointed at Delicious Kerala Kitchen.
I ordered Kerala meals, parotta and beef and biriyani. Out of which Kerala meal is the only one I liked and would suggest. Parotta I bought was not cooked well and was frozen. The biriyani was very low quality with no taste and I would never recommend. Staff also less.
This restaurant is now under new management and the ratings don't reflect the latest. Food was absolutely amazing. We will come here again.
Very poor quality. Feel like recycled several times
I would be happy to provide a short review for kerala kitchen. Brought kerala meals for my family and had good experience.offers an authentic and flavorful Kerala meal that is fresh and delicious. The dishes are well-prepared and the …
Used to be my go-to place for several years. Over time, with management change, they need to focus on pricing. We get small portions of a few items and get outrageous check these days.. I understand if they want to work on the current way …
Picked up from here the other day. Pulled in the parking lot called them and ordered 2 Meals.. lady who answered was very nice and I mentioned I was outside and when it was ready they brought it to my car. The gentleman that brought it to …
Very tasty food, real authentic Kerala food with homely taste. Nice staff and nominal price.
The food is fresh and tasty. Service is prompt and courteous. Food items are reasonably priced. This is the place if you want tasty Kerala food. Their Onam meals are one of a kind. The hall is also available for meetings for small groups.
This restaurant severs the best Kerala Thali like they serve food in Kerala India, normally they serve fish curry and beef fry in their thali but I order fish fry with it to get the feel I am siting and eating in Kerala. …
Very bad experience. Poor service, and when you ask for food they show you the real attitude. I went to eat with my kids, and asked for more curry, they said we cannot serve you all the time with more curry. I asked the owner then how come …
We went here when we were craving Kerala food .We had come for a conference in Houston and were staying at the Marriott Marquis Houston. They are under new management and they were very attentive to our needs. The food was excellent.we make …
We went there while we were driving back from Galveston, and we all were craving to have some kerala food. Called this place to ensure that they are open. We ordered our items and all the items were served hot. Liked their service and …
Their ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET is amazing. Value for money, mind blowing taste and no of menu item are things to rave about.
When I hear Kerala kitchen I am skeptical about the flavor and quality of service, however, the new management has definitely put some thought into flavor and quality. The Kerala style meals had kingfish as a standard curry. Definitely worth the money.
Kerala style food. Food is delicious but not so great with service. Its a buffet style and issue is most of the counter items when it goes empty doesn't get filled on time and one has to wait for long or adjust with what ever is later substituted/offered which is not a pleasant experience.
We moved here from the east coast, and not completely settled in. We were craving home cooked so badly after eating out every day. Delicious Kerala restaurant kitchen did not disappoint. Food was delicious, and made us feel at home. We were …
The best Kerala style sadya in Houston! Very tasty food and at a very reasonable price!
Amazinggg place with best Kerala food.
Yesterday me and my husband tried the lunch buffet. It was a very decent spread and the dishes tasted good as well . People who craves for Kerala food should definitely go and try atleast once. And the staff was really friendly..We will surely go there again..:)
The service was absolutely horrible and discriminatory. My wife and I were excited and curious to try some South Indian food. The owner …
Delicious Kerala meals and fish fry
Not a good restaurant. Food is bland, they offer a lot of options but all are tasteless. The worst part is they take your order for one thing and pack something different, if you call …
Was super excited to find a Keralite place. Ordered a beef biryani, the dry beef with coconut, a king fish curry, a chicken nadan curry, an Avial, seviyan (vermicelli dessert) and Kerala 'porottas'. The last three were all excellent while the rest were forgettable.
This is one of the good Kerala (southern state un India) restaurant with authentic kerala food only. Their buffet has few options and good, especially the beef fry and the appam (served right out of the pan). You can order separately for …
Delicious Kerala food. Reasonable price.
Good food but service is not very warm. The menu is not very clear. Several options were not available and the total bill was also not explained properly. It's a cheap eatery though. I would go here again for the good flavor of the food.
We live in Florida and were staying in Houston for few weeks and was trying lots of Indian restaurants around Houston. Kerala kitchen was referred by friend as he had very positive experience with them (of course they have a new management …
Ordered the meals, and was extremely satisfied with thoran, mango pickle, fish curry that came with it. Fish fry was so good. Will definitely come back. The meals were in large quantity and was filling.
We went for onam sadhya. Food was average. Fake banana leaf , the amount of rice and curries were teaspoonful. I don't think they know the meaning of ONAM (bountiful). Service pathetic. But the price, they knew how to empty people's wallets. Shame.
I am from Kerala, so I am really familiar with the cuisine. Tried their onam sadya(festival) lunch and the food was okay. Their service needs to improve. My daughter waited 15 mins to get an item from the waiter who seemed to ignore as as …
Me and my husband walked in here expecting delicious Kerala cuisine, as we both very much enjoy Indian food from all parts of the subcontinent. We ordered Fanta and asked for a glass of ice with the Fanta. The man working there brought 2 …
We walked in expecting to be greeted and nothing. We stood there waiting, and no one showed up. I was hopeful but realized that service wasn't going to happen. Even while we were there, some people came in (with outside food), which must …
Food is delicious! If you love South Indian or Kerala food, this is the place. They have a lunch Thali that had fish and beef curry and plenty of sides and a dessert. Don't go for the ambience, go for the food
THE SHRIMP CURRY PEOPLE. For a certified coconut lover like me, this dish blew me away... the rest of the buffet was great and featured a fish curry with beautiful chunks of salmon, tons of amazing spicy dishes (not sure of the exact …
Called in for Kerala breakfast Appam to try the new place . He said 30 mnts needed for preparing. When I went to pick it up on time I got a set of cold Appam which was disappointing . I got home heated in the microwave only to find out it was very sticky and didn't taste like Appam . Goat curry was okay.
This place has changed owners and has a new name. Give them a try we got fish fry the whole golden pompano and it was delicious. My whole family enjoyed and liked it. Also there poratta bread is good as well.
We ordered chicken masala, aviyal and green beans thoran as take out. The chicken masala and beans thoran were good but the Aviyal was BAD!! The Aviyal was a frozen lump that had a rotten smell. When we contacted them to let them know …
Authentic Kerala food gives you a feel like home.. Wonderful experience with excellent taste and very friendly Management. Catering services is also a bonus...
Went to have onam sadhya it was good food
Extremely disappointed — the biryani lacked flavor and was honestly the worst I’ve had. The taste needs serious improvement.
Unassuming South Indian/Kerala restaurant. Not best for a sit-in meal and I suggest take out. Its kinda joined together with a pizza place! We chose to sit in and the place was not busy on a weekend evening. We relished the chicken tikka …
Great South Kerala Cuisine... Went on a Sunday lunch buffet. They serve live Appam, Kerala parotta and Chappati... With Fish Curry, Mutton Curry, Butter Chicken Curry, Tandoori Chicken and Beef fry as nonveg options, beside this they had tapioca. I found this restaurant totally authentic for Kerala cusine and for just 10 bucks...
Good place for authentic Kerala food!
MEH. I came here back in 2009 (during my first visit to TX) and I wasn't impressed. However, I decided to try it again as they were offering Onam sadhya. Big mistake! I'm giving two stars only because the servers were nice, otherwise, I'd …
Best service; Aniti helped us and she is wonderful warm and friendly
Had such good Kerala food after years. Homemade taste, nice people. Must go place if you want to taste real Kerala food.
We went there yesterday after the new management changed, good food nice service pls keep up the quality and service
Under new management ! , authentic , Kerala ( South Indian) , Indian and indochinese food . You will not be disappointed.
Food was below average and so was service. The food was cold and the menus aren't very accurate. It's more like a fast food joint. Water is only provided if asked for. Naan has to be ordered separately.
Worst place ever. We had food catered from there. First they misplaced our order, even though we called it in weeks in advance. Then we got food which we waited for an additional 3 hours and it was what they had cooking. Then when we got the Sambar, it had a large cooked roach in it. I will not order from them again.
Food and service is really good 👍 …
Beware!!!This place is horrible. All the good reviews look like their friends. The owner, and a lady there, have no clue how to run a restaurant. He literally threatened us to keep the menu down and order the 4 items that he will say. …
Horrible customer service. Unprofessional staff. I walked inside and up to a counter with the menu taped to it. An older guy …
We loved the food from here.. especially Kerala meals.. rice, fish curry, beef, sambar, moru, thoran and pickle etc… soo good.. the customer service is good
Ordered, rice, sambar and Jack fruit toran, both the latter were stale and entire family suffered from upset stomach. If the dishes were old and stale he could have told us that he didn't have what we asked for and we would have ordered something else.
Today Me and my family went to have Onam meals. But the food was very pathetic.I will never recomend this restuarent. And the person who sercerved us was very rude.we just asked one extra plate for my 3year old daughter, but he said no in a rude manner.DONT GOTO THIS RESTUARENT.
Facebook stamped II should have known when I walked in I couldn't find Anyone when I walked in . The food was cold portions were small. Definitely not the best Indian food in Houston.
We ordered Onam Sadya. It was really soooooo good. Highly recommend.
Walked in, the guy behind the counter suggests that they are closed. It's Saturday 4pm. Door was open.
Tried their onam sadya today. Food was very good and amazing service.
We love this place. This is one of those restaurants that provides good quality and good quantity Kerala meals. Highly recommended..
Decent Kerala food. Mostly take away. But there are option to dine in also.
One of the best chicken biriyani and mutton briyani. The meal is also good and place with home taste as the restaurant is run by couple.
Best Egg Roast i ever ate amazing food good service!
