Growing up in a family of musicians and singers, Sandra was raised on rhythm and melody. She began playing drums at a young age, performing Latin and rock music, before an unexpected turn into a bellydance class sparked an obsession that grew into her full-time career and lifelong passion.

Today, Sandra is a professional Oriental dancer who has performed multiple times a week throughout Houston and the surrounding areas, sharing her art with diverse audiences. Her love of travel and cultural exploration has taken her across Texas, Kansas City, and Miami, and internationally to Guatemala, Turkey, Mexico, and Egypt, immersing herself in the rich traditions of the dance form.

From 2019 to 2021, Sandra lived in Istanbul, Turkey, performing several nights a week on boats cruising the Bosphorus — an experience that deeply shaped her artistry and connection to the dance. In 2021, she returned to Houston and founded Hips & Dips, a dance studio offering weekly classes alongside Kasandra Bridges. The following year, they launched Raqs Houston, a signature event now in its third year that brings dancers from across the country together for workshops, performances, and a celebration of Oriental dance.

With over 13 years dedicated to Oriental dance and folklore, Sandra also created The Nani Hive, an online and in-person studio offering classes for dancers of all levels.
