Traditional Indian restaurant. Decor is simple but elegant. We went for Sunday dinner and were seated right away. The place is a BYOB - they have a few mocktails but no alcohol. Menu variety is not extensive but quite good. Appetizers - recommend the thecha paneer and dabeli cones. Thecha paneer is spicy but quite flavorful. We got the Shyam sabera and veg kohlapuri. Again, the veg kohlapuri is spicy. Naan was soft and fresh. All the entries come with rice.

My family and I have eaten at countless Indian restaurants in numerous locations over the years, and we were still blown away by the quality of the food and service at Sawaii. This place promises an upscale dining experience and certainly delivers. The restaurant is located in a suburban strip mall typical of Texas locales, but the moment you walk in, you’re transported into a space that invites you to linger with warm wood tones and inviting atmosphere, and tasteful decor incorporating Indian saree fabrics on the wall. To start, we ordered an Ishq-E-Lemonade, which took me back to the nimbu paani welcome drinks I’ve had back home, and an Oreo shake, which was rich and creamy and surprisingly not too sweet. For appetizers, we tried the avocado dahi puri, which was a fun fusion take on a chaat favorite. The ratio of chutneys to dahi were well-balanced, and the avocado adds a creaminess. For entrees, we ordered Sanjh Savera, Veg Kolhapuri, and Kadai Paneer with garlic, bullet, and butter naans. While the kadai paneer and veg Kolhapuri were spicy and flavorful, it was the Sanjh Savera that blew us away. The paneer and spinach koftas were works of art in a rich, creamy, deliciously spiced gravy. Definitely a standout dish and must try if you come here. The service was also exceptional and made us feel right at home. Overall, 10/10 would come again. Thank you for a special and delicious experience!

I checked the reviews which are great so we went on Saturday evening for dinner. We ordered banarasi chaat, paneer pasanda and akhrot halwa, naan. Chaat was just dal with Tamarind sauce. Paneer pasanda didn’t had salt. Halwa was nothing but crushed walnuts with ghee, too dry . Overall we didn’t like the food and it’s pricey.

Had been wanting to try this place for a long time because they advertise Maharashtrian cuisine, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The Chicken Cornetto sounded unique, but the outer shell was stale and soft instead of crispy, and the portion was quite small for the price. The Kolhapuri mutton curry was disappointing and lacked the authentic spicy Kolhapuri flavor, tasting more like a generic tomato-based curry, although the mutton itself was tender. The guava juice was the highlight initially, but a fly fell into it. The staff did replace it and offered a refund, which I appreciated, but the replacement juice was overly sweet. For a restaurant positioning itself as fine dining, the presence of flies was unexpected. Overall, the prices are too high for the quality and portions served. Sadly, not a place I’d return to.

We catered with Priya and the team at Sawaii for our multi day Indian wedding, and it was truly one of the best decisions we made. Going into the process, we honestly thought finding an Indian caterer in the DFW area would be easy, but it ended up being much harder to find someone who could really do everything well. Priya stood out right away because she was one of the few who could seamlessly handle fusion cuisine while also executing authentic South Indian and Gujarati dishes so beautifully. From the very beginning, Priya was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and flexible. She took the time to really understand what we wanted for each event and made us feel confident every step of the way. You can tell how much she cares about her work and her clients, and it showed in every detail across the entire weekend. And the food truly speaks for itself. We received so many compliments throughout the entire weekend, and even now people still bring it up and tell us how much they loved it. For an Indian wedding, the food is such a big deal, and Priya absolutely delivered. Everything was flavorful, perfectly executed, and exactly what we had envisioned. We are so grateful to Priya and her team for making our wedding weekend so memorable. We could not recommend them more.
