Great place to stay when in the League City area. Friendly staff & delicious food at Opus.
Really nice facility. Our room was spacious, quiet, nicely decorated, very comfortable. View over the marina was beautiful, and walking around the marina was very pleasant. Hotel has a "smallish" feel so it felt homey and welcoming. Staff very friendly. Lounge area had great bartenders (and several, so you never waited to get someone's attention) and good dinner food. Breakfast buffet was huge and reasonably priced. The hotel's swimming pool is large and the pool area very comfortable, except they played the "young people's music" quite a bit too loud ... but you get that at outdoor pools. The nearby Fitness Center, to which hotel guests get free access, is equipped with every machine you can imagine and lots of them. One small drawback: there isn't much within walking distance (except the marina and Fitness Center), so anything you might want to do you really have to drive to. Nevertheless, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week at this resort!
False advertisement is written all over this place, on top of terrible customer service and hospitality. When we arrived Saturday Evening nothing was open that they claimed was at their front desk or on their website with no signs indicating hours may have changed. The next day, as we went to have a beverage at the pool bar which was supposed to be open until 9pm, we went at 4:25 and waited 41 mins for the bartender to get everyone around us drinks. We could see she was busy so we didn’t mind the wait, BUT when she came near us and asked whose turn it was we said I think us, and she said “I can’t serve you it’s past 5pm we are closing (it was 5:06) so instead of just telling us when we got to the bar or printing out some simple signs saying they were closed or closing she was downright rude and disrespectful. She then, when we got up and left, served at least 5-6 more customers and we then saw her still serving someone at 5:27. We then spoke to the manager whose only solution was for us to pack up the family (we came with 5 guests and a toddler) and go to another place. So there are 0 solutions offered. Two of this party work in hospitality and have never seen such rudeness to guests in our lives and we travel a lot too. Doing research before we got here we wish we knew this. On top of all this, they gave us 2 rooms, one of the balconies being extremely unsafe for a toddler- he could have fit through the gap, but no one told us this, and they do have rooms with kid friendly/safer balconies. I would discourage anyone from staying here, there are much better options in the area with much better customer service.
Disappointed to say the least. Each course would have been quite delicious if they had not been over salty. The main course which was the veal chop was cooked to perfection but totally spoiled by the over salty taste. The second course which was clam chowder was a equally very salty and I barely ate it. The evening was also spoiled by constant interruption to listen to a wine promotion between the courses. I was not aware of that when I booked the dinner. Lastly, I was equally blindsighted regarding the sitting arrangements. Since the dinner was for two I was not expecting to share a table with 3 other guests. Again that was not brought to my attention during the phone booking. Overall the evening was not extremely unpleasant but not what I was expecting for a five course wine pairing dinner experience. .
Nice hotel. Rooms are nice. Service was great , especially the bartender in the bar area! He was on point and was very professional. Enjoyed my stay!
